"I am keen on doing films" - Chaitanya Choudhary
Star One's 'Zara Nachke Dikha' has definitely worked wonders for our telly hunk Chaitanya Choudhary. After his dhamakedar performance in the dance reality show, he has been flooded with offers from the film industry.
But the actor, who currently plays the lead in Star Plus's Sangam, is in no hurry to sign on the dotted line. Speaking to Bollywood Hungama, he said, "I am taking time out to read all the scripts and meet film producers. Though, I cannot reveal too many details at this stage, all I can say is that I am looking for a meaty and substantial role which has to work for me in the long run. But right now, I am only focusing on Sangam."
So, does it mean we lose out another able star from tellydom to filmdom? Well, as for now, the ball's in Chaitanya's court!

Santosh Sivan bonds with the legendary actress Anna Karina at Pusan
After receiving wow reviews all over the world for his English-language film Before The Rains, cinematographer-director Santosh Sivan headed with his Hindi anti-terrorism film Tahaan to the Pusan Film Festival late last month. Strangely enough, he was in a jury at a festival where his film was also represented, though in a different sections altogether.
What made Pusan extraordinarily special was his bonding with the legendary Danish actress, Anna Karina, who was the mythic French director Jean-Luc Godard's muse, wife and primary actress in a series of classics in the 1960s. Karina who has worked with the crème de la crème of world cinema headed the jury of the Pusan Film Festival this year.
Santosh Sivan and Karina hit it off from the word go.
"I couldn't believe how easygoing this legendary woman whom I grew up watching was. She's quite a humorous person and full of life, and she was amused that I would pronounce her name her as 'Karena'. She had so many stories to share of her days and experiences with Godard, and other leading French directors. She told me Godard is stingy with words and named his dog 'Come Here.' since he didn't want to add come here to the dog's name!"
Enthuses Santosh, "It was quite interesting to see so many films from so many Asian countries, the stress being on originality. Finally, the film Naked Defences from Japan won along with Land Of Scare-crows from South Korea. There was also an interesting film from India Ocean Of An Old Man with Tom Alter in the lead in the competition again. Tahaan was also in the Asian section and got invited to Sundance film festival. It was also interesting and encouraging to see how the festival authorities ensure harmony between producers, sales agents and buyers, to ensure sales and exploit sales opportunities for independent films featuring in the festival."
About the other distinguished jury members at Pusan, Santosh says, "Besides Anna Karina, I got to meet the German filmmaker Karl Baumagrtner who is an accomplished producer, and Lee Hwa-si is one of the most respected actors in Korea. The distinguished Iranian director Samara Makhabalf unfortunately fell ill. Other wise it was quite an enjoyable experience. I hope to travel to almost 16 other festivals with Tahaan."

Wishing Tusshar Kapoor a Very Happy Birthday
If the saying 'Eyes are the reflection of the soul' could be personified, then, our today's Birthday Boy will win it hands down. He is the one and only Tusshar Kapoor, who, on a lighter note, can also be described as the person responsible for spreading the 'numerological' virus in Bollywood! Being born to the Superstar father Jeetendra with the TV Czarina Ekta Kapoor as his sister, life could have simply been a bed of roses for this talented youngster. But, not the one to rest on his father's and sister's laurels, Tusshar chose to 'earn' his identity!
The one common element that binds all of Tusshar's films is his sparkling innocence doubled up with honesty and sincerity. The impact of this man has become so magnanimous in Bollywood that the series of Golmaal and Golmaal Returns will look not just incomplete but impossible without him! Bollywood Hungama would like to
Whole-heartedly wish Tusshar Kapoor a very Happy Birthday. You too can join us by posting your wishes below:

PNC to produce experimental films & launch a chain of boutique cinemas
These days it has become a trend of sorts for the major film production houses to launch a separate sub-division to make and promote different, out-of-the-box and unusual kind of cinema. So you have the Mukta Searchlight Films started by Mukta Arts, White Feather Arthouse Films launched by White Feather Films and UTV Spotboy, an independent arm launched by UTV which has given some really meaningful films in the recent past.
Now PNC (Pritish Nandy Communications) is the latest film production company to follow the suit. PNC has come up with 'Guerilla Flix', a sub-division which will be instrumental in creating experimental cinema. Bollywood Hungama spoke to Mr.Ram Kamal Mukherjee, VP- PNC, who confirmed the news. "Yes, we are making some really hatke and out-of-the-box kind of films under our banner 'Guerilla Flix'. These are films which you can call as experimental kind of cinema. Many of the scripts we have in mind are such which a mainstream Bollywood actor may think twice before agreeing upon. The 'Guerilla Flix' is a step towards making different kind of cinema. Mr. Arindam Mitra is heading this section and in fact he has also directed the first film to be presented under the 'Guerilla Flix' banner. The film is called Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and stars T.V. actor Eijaz Khan. The film is currently in its post-production stages and should be out early next year."
So is 'Guerilla Flix' a platform for nurturing new and untapped talent? "In a way, Yes. this can provide an excellent platform for new directors and actors. Anybody who is confident about his / her script is more than welcome. We even have an experienced panel of people on board who will be guiding us in this project. For e.g. Besides Arindam Mitra, Somnath Sen is also making a film for us. However, let me tell you that the films to come out of the 'Guerilla Flix' banner will not just be experimental but also entertaining in their own way."
The buzz doing rounds is that PNC is also coming up with a chain of multiplexes across the country. Is it true? Replies Mukherjee, "Yes...we have come up with this idea of launching boutique cinemas. These are multiplexes which will be very up-market, plush and where you can literally spell Comfort with a capital 'C'. We are in talks with some of the other multiplexes in South Mumbai area and certain negotiations are on. We plan to start off in South Mumbai first and then will slowly branch out to suburban areas such as Andheri and Goregaon. Starting multiplexes is no child's play, so right now we are focusing only on Mumbai."
According to our well placed sources, the chain of multiplexes to be rolled out by PNC is called Flix.

"No competition with Shilpa Shetty" - Priyanka Chopra
Shilpa Shetty is enjoying all the 'oohs' and 'aahs' from the audience with her sexy act in 'Shut Up and Bounce' number from Dostana. However, Priyanka Chopra is not loosing any sleep with the popularity of the song and the item girl in it, especially since she has her own 'Desi Girl' to cheer about.
"In any case, I wasn't competing with Shilpa Shetty in Dostana. Of course 'Desi Girl' is fantastic but so is 'Shut Up and Bounce'. I knew about the song placement from the very beginning", says Priyanka Chopra who is getting quite some accolades coming her way after Fashion and now Dostana.
But didn't she ever wish that she could have bagged 'Shut Up and Bounce' as well?
"Well, I have the remaining five songs in the film to my name so no regrets with one song featuring someone else", smiles Priyanka, "Also, the song's placement was such that it required introducing the beach life of Miami to the audience at the very beginning of the film. Now since I make an appearance a little later, it wouldn't have made sense for the song to be picturised on me."
What does she feel about Shilpa Shetty fitting the bill eventually? "Absolutely the right choice", Priyanka doesn't blink an eyelid here, "For a vibrant city like Miami, it was absolutely essential to have a female with a great body and who better than Shilpa to do the honors. This composition by Vishal and Shekhar absolutely rocks and the way Tarun Mansukhani, the film's director, has got it on screen is just perfect. I am very happy with the final result and glad that it is being noticed and becoming so popular with the audience. It only helps the film."

Sanjay Dutt trapped in a landslide in Manali, returns without shooting
In his first full-on action schedule in a long time, in Manali, Sanjay Dutt got together with action directors Javed-Ejaaz for some serious stunts including hand-to-hand combats. In the process he aggravated a shoulder injury which would now have to be looked into immediately when Dutt returns to Mumbai.
But the worst blow was delivered by Nature when it, in all its wisdom, decided to rain down catastrophic weather that put an end to Dutt's dreams of doing devilish derrindo in the stunning expanse of the Rohtang Pass.
It was a harrowing end to a spectacular schedule devoted to rough action scenes. On Tuesday, the cast and crew of Rahul Dholakia's Lamhaa were to shoot some truly complicated action sequences at the breathtaking Rohtang Pass.
However, Man proposes and then we all know what God does. After driving incessantly through slush snow and rain, the crew had to turn back.
On Tuesday producer Bunty Walia said, "We didn't shoot at Rohtang Pass. We've packed up in Manali. We'll return to Mumbai on November 20 and start shooting in Film City from November 24. It was a very frustrating experience. We drove through the most impossible roadway because this was the last day of the schedule and there was no way we could delay. Sanju had to get back. We had to encounter the most nightmarish weather. If we didn't turn back, we'd face the danger of a serious road accident."
However, the crew would have still plodded on. But a landslide blocking the way to Rohtang Pass left the Lamhaa crew with no choice but to turn back.
And now the remaining action scenes will have to be shot in Kashmir when the crew returns in January after the elections. This turn of events would certainly please the J&K government.
